Café lighting must support ordering, coffee preparation, product presentation, and cleaning while creating a comfortable atmosphere that encourages customers to stay.
BROWN Coffee BVM Roastery features arched architecture, timber structures, abundant planting, and open seating areas. The lighting concept combines track spotlights, recessed downlights, concealed linear lighting, and localized decorative illumination.
Warm light coordinates with timber, metal, concrete textures, and natural planting to create a contemporary café with a distinctive brand identity.
Project: BROWN Coffee BVM Roastery
Location: National Road 6A area, Cambodia
Project type: Café and coffee-roastery space
Main lighting: Track spotlights, recessed downlights, and linear lighting
Application areas: Entrance, coffee bar, retail displays, indoor seating, and planted areas
The counter is the principal service and visual focus of the café. It supports ordering, coffee preparation, food presentation, and payment.
Recessed downlights provide general illumination for the working area, while concealed linear lighting emphasizes the rear wall and counter. The lighting also improves the visibility of coffee equipment, cups, display cases, and graphic details.
Customer seating requires suitable table illumination without making the café feel excessively bright or visually flat.
Directional spotlights focus on tables, plants, and display features, giving different seating groups a more defined visual setting. Soft indirect light reduces the visual weight of the architectural surfaces and contributes to a comfortable atmosphere.
The project uses an arched roof, timber beams, and extensive glazing as defining architectural elements.
White track spotlights follow the timber structure and reinforce its direction. Their restrained appearance provides functional illumination without distracting from the height and form of the arched interior.
Indoor and outdoor planting is combined with timber, metal, concrete finishes, and furniture in natural colors.
Accent lighting reveals layers of foliage and material textures, making the planted environment an important part of the café experience. Warm illumination complements the timber surfaces and supports a relaxed character.
The café entrance combines a dark façade, illuminated signage, and an irregular arched doorway.
At night, the “BROWN COFFEE” sign, entrance lighting, and warm interior glow help visitors recognize the location while creating an inviting arrival experience.
The project combines several lighting layers:
Task, accent, and atmospheric lighting work together to maintain customer comfort while supporting daily bar operations.
Downlights and linear lighting keep the counter and product displays clearly visible. Illuminated rear surfaces create a soft background and help establish the bar as a focal point.
Track spotlights follow the timber beams and illuminate communal tables, smaller dining settings, lounge chairs, and planted features. Adjustable fixtures also allow the light to respond to changes in furniture layout.
Accent lighting highlights plants, shelves, and merchandise to create depth within the interior. The final specification should consider both plant-care and product-display requirements.
Illuminated signage, wall lighting, and the warm glow from inside define the nighttime façade. The glazed frontage connects the interior and exterior, allowing customers to experience the atmosphere before entering.
The completed lighting environment creates a natural, warm, and visually layered café.
Track spotlights provide flexible accent illumination for seating, plants, and displays. Downlights support the bar and circulation areas, while concealed linear lighting softens the walls and emphasizes the architecture.
The lighting coordinates with the arched structure, timber beams, planting, and natural materials, allowing BVM Roastery to function as a coffee destination, social environment, and branded experience.
Track spotlights are widely used in cafés, restaurants, and retail interiors because they can:
