The FANGCHENGBAO Altair showroom uses a modern LED lighting system to create a clear and visually layered environment for displaying the BAO 5 and other vehicles.
The interior combines light-coloured walls, grey flooring, dark wood finishes and black linear ceiling elements. The lighting therefore needed to provide comfortable ambient illumination while emphasising vehicle contours, branded surfaces, digital displays and key presentation areas.
Recessed multi-head grille lights, compact LED downlights and concealed linear lighting form the main lighting solution. Their orderly placement follows the showroom layout and integrates cleanly with the contemporary ceiling design.
Automotive showrooms contain reflective paint, glass, metal trim and complex curved surfaces. These materials require careful control of light direction, uniformity and glare.
The main requirements included:
Recessed multi-head grille lights are installed above the primary vehicle display areas.
Several light sources are integrated into narrow black ceiling slots that align with the showroom’s architectural language. Light reaches each vehicle from multiple directions, improving the visibility of the front design, side profile, wheels and sculpted body surfaces.
This multi-point approach creates more dimensional modelling than undifferentiated ambient lighting alone.
Compact recessed LED downlights provide general illumination across entrances, circulation routes and shared customer areas.
Their small visual footprint keeps the ceiling clean and directs attention toward the vehicles and brand content. The orderly arrangement of the downlights also strengthens the perceived depth of the showroom and helps guide visitors through the space.
Concealed LED strips are integrated along upper wall edges and architectural details.
The resulting indirect light defines the perimeter of the showroom and softens the contrast created by the directional display lighting. It also enhances the appearance of wood finishes and introduces a warmer visual layer into the predominantly neutral interior.
The showroom includes an illuminated brand mark and large digital screens. The surrounding lighting remains visually controlled so that excessive ambient brightness does not weaken their impact.
This creates a clear hierarchy between the brand wall, digital content and the vehicles on display.
Vehicle paintwork and glazing can easily reflect ceiling luminaires. Fixture positions and aiming directions therefore need to respond to each display location.
A distributed lighting arrangement helps prevent a single area from becoming excessively bright. Recessed fixtures also reduce the visibility of the light sources, supporting greater visual comfort as customers move around the vehicles.
The completed lighting system creates a bright, modern and brand-focused environment for the FANGCHENGBAO Altair showroom.
Key outcomes include:
A vehicle is both a large retail product and the central visual feature of an automotive showroom. Uniform ambient lighting alone may not adequately reveal body contours, paint finishes and design details.
Professional showroom lighting combines ambient, accent and indirect illumination. Ambient light supports safe circulation, accent light models the vehicles, and indirect light improves architectural depth and atmosphere.
This layered approach supports both functional visibility and a more refined customer experience.
